SCC Children's Ministry
We have an exciting week-end full of events! We have our Apple Picking Event on Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00 am at the beautiful Hunger Mountain Orchard in Waterbury Center (followed by a picnic in the park!).
And then on Sunday late afternoon, we have our wonderful, annual Blessing of The Animals on the Trapp Family Lodge stage in the meadow! Thet will be from 4:00-5:00 pm, and all pets (and stuffies) are encouraged and welcome to be Blesssed!
We also still have more room and space to sign up and join our Youth Choir! That meets from 3:30-4:30 pm on Thursdays, and if you would like to join us, or would like any more information about Youth Choir, feel free to email Taryn Noelle: taryn@stowecommunitychurch.org
Warm thanks and Blessings to you all!

Mission Spotlight for September
The Mission and Service Committee is pleased to highlight the North Country Animal League (NCAL) as our September Mission of the Month. NCAL’s mission is to promote compassionate and responsible relationships between people and animals. For more than 30 years, NCAL has cared for vulnerable animals, helped them find loving homes, and provided education and community programs that support animal welfare.
Jacques Du Preez, NCAL’s Executive Director, will speak to our congregation on September 27th during worship. He will share more about NCAL’s work in our community and the many ways we can support their mission.
We are also grateful to NCAL for sponsoring our Blessing of the Animals on September 20th at the Trapp Family Lodge & Resort. We hope you and your four-legged friends will join us for this special celebration!
| | | | September 20. 2026 at 4:00 pm service for Blessing of the Animals led by Pastor Dan and Rev. Barbara Purinton at the Trapp Family Lodge and Resort Concert Meadow, rain site Trapp Family Wedding Tent. All well-mannered pets, live and stuffed are welcome! Dogs should be on leashes 6’ or shorter, no flexi leashes, please. Cats and other small animals should be crated. Be sure to bring your own chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor service. | | | |
Church Fall Open House, Sign Up to Help!
Can you help us welcome the many visitors to the village during the autumn weekends?
We would like to have the church open for people to pray, take photos, learn about our historic church, and support our mission. This will run September 5 through October 11.
Please sign up in the Narthex or email the church to volunteer for a 1 or 2 hour time slot this fall. Be sure to look at the dates and times on the sign up sheet.
Thank you for helping us open wide our doors of hospitality!
