Nathan, a senior at York High School, has been a member of YVC since 2017! For Nathan, "working as a team with other like-minded people in order to make a difference in the lives of others or by cleaning-up/improving our community" is what he loves most about volunteering.
While Nathan has enjoyed many different projects with YVC, his favorite has been those at Bluebird Gap Farm. He says that "working at Bluebird Gap Farm has provided me an opportunity to give back to the community where I used to go as a child. I spent many days with my family and friends visiting the farm. Over the years I have watched this farm grow to what it is today. Knowing that I played a small part in helping make this happen is special to me and hopefully one day I will bring my own family and friends to visit.'"
Nathan's advice for new volunteers is "don't be afraid to try new experiences and help set an example for others. The value of giving back to others and the community is worth the time."
After graduation, Nathan plans attend college to study finance/accounting.
