Linda Kerekes '77

From an early age, Linda Kerekes knew her calling was philanthropy. As an EC student involved in band and yearbook, she was looking for opportunities to donate her time. It was during high school she volunteered at Murray Ridge School and discoveed her passion to learn and support educational programs and nonprofit organizations.

1973 & 1974 Cross Country State Champions - 50 Year Anniversary Celebration

On January 12, 2024 members of the EC Cross Country community gathered at the varsity basketball game to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1973 and 1974 state championship teams, the first ever state championships teams at Elyria Catholic in any sport.

From 1972 through 1984 the Elyria Catholic boys Cross Country team established themselves as the premier program in the state of Ohio. Coached by Dick Ellsasser (center) and Tom Mahl (center left), over a lustrous 13 year period, the Panther harriers claimed four top four team finishes, three state team runners up finishes, and won four state championships.

Young Alumni Retreat Recap

This December, nineteen Elyria Catholic Alumni from the classes of 2022-2017 gathered together for an evening of prayer and adoration. Director of Campus Ministry Sara Lanzola enjoyed welcoming our young alumni home to Elyria Catholic during the Christmas season!

Class of 1958 Gathering

This summer, sixteen members of the class of 1958 gathered at the Valley of the Eagles to celebrate 65 years as alumni. The class committee includes Tom Zeck, Paul Pustay, Pat O’Connor, Brenda Bruck Mettler, and Joyce Van Amburgh.

In Memory of Tom

Wear your OSU pride or scarlet & gray and join us on Friday, February 2 as the Panthers take on Open Door. JV game begins at 5:30 pm and varsity begins at 7 pm.

Tom's Elyria Catholic family is grateful for all of the support he showed our student-athletes by highlighting their accomplishments on our Panther Club social media. He captured many stellar moments. Let's all remember Tom and his compassion for others, enthusiasm for all things EC, and his great smile, by filling the Coliseum with scarlet & gray. Please continue to keep Tom's wife, Lisa, daughter Claire, and his family in your prayers.
