Implementing UDL through the Station Rotation Model:

A Community of Practice

This Community of Practice (CoP) will meet monthly, with full-day events in October and January and virtual sessions in November and December.

Join other educators seeking to expand their repertoire of inclusive practices through a deep dive of the Station Rotation Model, a powerful instructional approach that strategically uses technology, meaningful offline learning experiences, and teacher-led small group instruction to enhance the learning process for all students.

This CoP, led by Taija Haller, MA, will discuss key aspects of this approach in connection with Universal Design for Learning through a professional book study of The Station Rotation Model & UDL: Elevate Tier 1 Instruction and Cultivate Learner Agency by Catlin R. Tucker.

On the Road with LRC-South

We are heading back “On the Road” this year offering Supporting Students with Disabilities in Physical Education: Strategies for Full Participation in Atlantic, Gloucester, and Salem counties!

In this engaging and hands-on workshop, attendees will explore strategies for students with multiple disabilities. Donna Loftus, a certified Health and Physical Education teacher, will guide participants through physical education activities modified for students with significant support needs.

Registration is currently open for the dates and locations listed below.

Maximizing Small Group Instruction

Are you looking to make your small group time more dynamic, intentional, and impactful? Join us for a practical, actionable session designed to help you turn student data into targeted,

high-engaging instruction.

Explore flexible grouping frameworks and learn how to analyze student data to build purposeful and dynamic small groups.

Understand how Tier 1 instructional strategies improve outcomes for all students within small groups, and discover practical tools to monitor student progress, adjust groups seamlessly, and guide

future instruction.

From Data To Instruction:

Turning Literacy Data Into Specially Designed Instruction

Move beyond asking “What does the data say?” and start answering, “What does this student need me to do differently?”

In this hands-on session, you will learn how to bridge the gap between assessment metrics and classroom impact. Transform your literacy data into actionable, instruction that drives real student growth.

  • Analyze assessment data and error patterns.
  • Differentiate between reteaching, intervention, and SDI.
  • Match supports to individual needs and design targeted small-group lessons.
  • Monitor progress to verify your instructional changes are working.

A Better Map:

Practical Neuroinclusive Practice for Educators

Neuroinclusive practice begins with a shift in how we understand learners. When a student refuses, shuts down, struggles to participate, or performs inconsistently, the most useful question may not be “How do we change the behavior?” but “What is affecting this learner’s access right now?”

This four-part professional learning series helps educators move from interpreting student challenges at the level of behavior to identifying the conditions, barriers, and supports that influence access to learning. Drawing on neuroinclusive practice and the Neuroscapes framework, participants will explore behavior, regulation, accommodations, and instructional design through the interconnected concepts of understanding the learner, recognizing changing conditions, identifying barriers, and creating effective routes to meaningful participation.

Inclusion Institute: Call for Proposals

INCLUSION INSTITUTE 2027

Belonging by Design: Dynamic Spaces for Diverse Minds

The LRC-South 7th annual Inclusion Institute is a free full-day, in-person event focused on navigating and implementing inclusive practices in PK-12 and 18-21 contexts.

This year's conference theme encourages presenters to submit proposals focused on how physical classroom environments and instruction can be intentionally designed to support a wider range of students with disabilities and expand the diversity of students placed in inclusive classrooms. It challenges us to consider: How can we build learning environments equipped to support all learners?

Present with us!

Your session proposal should align with the conference theme and with the LRC-South and the NJDOE's focus on inclusive education.

Proposals are due by Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Educator Voices: Share Your Story!
