1. Early Learning Roundtable with Butterfly Pediatrics - Thursday, December 9th at 4:00pm
In the past few weeks I have received multiple notes/requests about staff dealing with student behaviors. They are aligning these concerns with classroom management techniques and discipline support to control physicalness- defiant behavior. For this roundtable we will be joined by our partners at Butterfly Pediatrics to answer your questions and give resources/ideas about situations your teams are dealing with.
If you have a specific situation/example you are dealing with that you would like the experts from Butterfly Pediatrics to discuss during the roundtable can you please email me your situation (without student names) by December 6th. I will be sending these case studies in advance to the Butterfly team so they can be prepared to give you as much information as possible during our time together.

2. Virtual Early Learning Professional Development Day Friday, February 11th from 8:30am – 3:30pm
We are just a few months away from our second annual Virtual Early Learning Professional Development Day on Friday, February 11th from 8:30am – 3:30pm. We were able to review the awesome feedback from last years event (we have a lunch break built in this year😊) and are putting together a great list of sessions and trainers that will be focusing on topics such as Diving into Literacy, Learning through Play, Sensory Processing and Creating Mathematical Moments. I look forward in upcoming weeks and months to send you more details about sessions and registration information. Looking forward to a great day of learning! Stay tuned!
3. Licensed Only: Annual Monitoring Visits Update
A month or so ago I sent you an update from DCYF that annual monitoring visits were going to return to in-person visits. I received an update today that each program has the option to have your annual monitoring visit with your licensor be either virtual or in-person. When your licensor reaches out to you to schedule your annual monitoring visit you can let them know at that time whether you would like to have a virtual or in-person visit. If you choose in-person you also have the option to ask them to make their visit after hours. I know that many of you have preferred the virtual visits so I was pleased to share with you that it will still be an option for the health and safety of your staff, kids, and school. One additional note … when your licensor reaches out to schedule your annual monitoring visit you can ask for a list of items they are intending to check so you can be prepared with those items/documents to make your visit more efficient. If your licensor does not provide a list I have a generic one I can send you for preparation. Please let me know if you have any questions!
