Vitality Ministry Council Update
Rev. Justin Nierer, Chair of the Vitality Ministry Council
The Vitality Ministry Council of the NACCC is the team within the association that has the incredible honor and privilege to encourage and minister to the churches and the pastors of the NACCC. The council does this in multiple different ways. We organize the yearly convocations for our pastors. We have three of them and they are always after Easter when a pastor needs rest and restoration. They occur at venues in Massachusetts, Michigan and Nevada. We are always looking for speakers to share during these times so if you know of anyone you think would be a great fit, please contact me. Also, if you are reading this and are a lay leader, make sure your pastor is encouraged to attend, it is a great way for them to get some rest, make new friends, and truly “recharge.”
For now, we oversee the Lay Ministry Training Program which is going through an incredible re-visioning through the leadership and hard work of many amazing people. I know they plan on having their first classes start soon.
We also oversee the Butman and Russell awards. This year we will be giving out the Russell preaching award during our online annual meeting. All the sermons that were given were spectacular and it was a difficult decision to choose just one for the award.
I work with an incredible team that make up the Vitality Ministry Council and I am honored to be a part of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.
