Brush Creek Valley Ranch and Open Space wins 2021 Starburst Award
Did you know that the Brush Creek Valley Ranch & Open Space conservation project just won a Starburst Award? Starburst Awards recognize excellence in the use of Lottery funds for community and conservation projects. Lottery proceeds are distributed statewide through grants via Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), the Conservation Trust Fund, Colorado Parks & Wildlife, and Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST).

Winners are chosen based on the creativity of the project, economic and social impact on the community, and whether the project achieved its goal.

Join us for a restoration day at Sweetwater Lake
Followers of the Sweetwater Lake Campaign know it’s been long process getting this iconic property conserved, forever. But as The Conservation Fund gears up to transfer the property to the United States Forest Service, the finish line – and a cheers – is in sight. Before the transfer can happen, however, there is still outstanding work to be done to get the property ready for the public. So, EVLT and the USFS are teaming up to host a volunteer restoration project aimed at tackling that outstanding work.

Donors and volunteers like you made Earth Week with EVLT a success
And that's a wrap! Earth Week 2021, with all of its new programs, new platforms, and new partners, is in the books. The symbiology of Earth Week was on full display: the week began with a conservation photography workshop at Brush Creek Valley Ranch & Open Space, and culminated with an all-hands-on-deck community effort to restore the Dotsero Landing Recreation Site. The birding tour along Brush Creek tallied a total of 28 different species, including a Great Horned Owl!

Community conservation's focus on connecting our community to the land should serve us well for many Earth Weeks to come. Your generosity and participation helped us meet our Earth Day match campaign goal. Thank you to all who volunteered, joined our programs, or made a contribution. A special thanks to our partners Todd Winslow Pierce, Jerry Fedrizzi, and Alan Czepinski from the Bureau of Land Management.
How to support Eagle Valley Land Trust
Did you know that more and more people are donating stocks and mutual funds to the nonprofits they care about?
