UConn is celebrating First-Gen week from November 3-8, with multiple events. First Gen Week is an extension of National First Gen Day, which happens each year on November 8. First-Gen Week is designed to celebrate the successes of first-generation college students, faculty, staff, and alumni!


UConn is dedicated to supporting and serving anyone who identifies as first-generation! Frist generation students come from families where neither a parent nor guardian as a four-year degree from a college or university.

Last day to withdraw from a course & place courses on or remove from Pass/Fail grading.

Learn about the many LC leadership opportunities such as Floor Mentor, Learning Community Council, FYE Mentor, and RA. Current student leaders will share their experiences and answer your questions!

Support Resources

When life gets hard, UConn has resources and people who care about you personally. Whether your concerns be a natural disaster occurring close to your home, academic concerns or you just need to talk through things, UConn has people ready to help. Staff across our campuses are available to offer guidance and assistance - you just need to reach out. Below are resources you can explore if you’re looking for support.


Dean of Students: DOSO staff see students on a drop-in basis, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 1:00pm-3pm, Thursdays from 9am-11:00am and on Wednesdays from 4pm-6pm in the Cultural Centers located in the Student Union. If drop-in hours don’t fit into your schedule, call 860-486-3426 to schedule an appointment. 



Student Health & Wellness Mental Health Services (SHaW), is available to provide support to students who may be struggling. There are several ways students can connect with SHaW: To make an appointment with SHaW-Mental Health call 860-486-4700. Call 833-308-3040 (US, Canada & the Caribbean) or 1-984-268-2016 (all other international locations) to access free and confidential mental health support 24/7/365.

Smart Manufacturing Summit

The UConn School of Business Digital Frontiers Initiative (DFI) is hosting the Smart Manufacturing Summit on Wednesday, November 5th from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Graduate Business Learning Center in Hartford.


This event will feature:

  • A keynote speaker highlighting the impact of manufacturing on Connecticut’s economy
  • Two expert panels exploring how data and technology are transforming the industry
  • A networking reception with complimentary appetizers
  • Tours and demos inside the UConn Innovate Lab
VAW Global Health Outreach Trip. Two week internship in Summer 2026 to Guatemala. Partner with local families in underserved communities abroad to strengthen health systems. Work under licensed professionals to build artisan water filters gardens compost systems and small farms. Improve nutrition and community health through hands on projects. Gain 62 certified project hours with training cultural workshops and professional development. Open to all majors ideal for med school and graduate applications.
