Happy February CHUSY!!!
Thanks for reading the 4th edition of the SA/TO newsletter this year. If you didn’t know, last week was Specialty Kinnus with CRUSY! We had so much fun with over 90 participants across both regions in our Great British Bakeoff and food insecurity themed convention. We played a very fun Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game to raise money for Tikun Olam. We also had a service project on President’s Day where we worked with an organization called MAZON to learn about food insecurity and write postcards to our representatives about the information that we learned. Overall, it was a very fun convention where we raised over $500 for Tikun Olam so thank you to everyone who donated.
Because we worked with them at spesh, our SA/TO spotlight for the month is MAZON. MAZON is a Jewish organization whose main goal is to end food insecurity and hunger in the United States and Israel. They have been in place for over 35 years fighting to enhance the government’s response to hunger and food insecurity across the two countries. During the pandemic, they have been running programming over Zoom to continue fighting for their mission, in a time where the issue of hunger is even more prevalent.
I hope that everyone had an amazing time at spesh and keep checking the CHUSY social media for updates on future programs and conventions!
Stay Warm,
Brandon Wagner
