What the Health?
Testing Times
As a major urban center, Los Angeles has been a hotspot for coronavirus for months. According to the L.A. County Department of Public Health, more than 271,000 cases have been reported in the county this year with a current testing positivity rate of 3%. This means our area remains in a Tier 1 status with "widespread" infections that continue to delay business re-openings including: indoor personal care services; indoor dining; indoor gyms; movie theaters; indoor houses of worship; and expanded capacity at indoor retail establishments and malls.

T.H.E. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Derrick Butler underscores the importance of following clinic precautions to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

"All employees, patients and visitors must wear face masks in all of our facilities. Employees should not come to work if they feel sick or have been exposed to anyone with known coronavirus infection. Please contact your supervisor if you are sick or have known exposure to get instructions," he says. "Let’s continue to all work together to keep our workplace safe."

As we head into flu season, now more than ever it is important for us to practice preventive care for ourselves and the patients we serve. T.H.E. will continue to provide safe, fast and reliable COVID-19 testing at no cost. We encourage everyone to get their flu shots and stay up to date on immunizations at all ages. Read more about "Why COVID-19 Means You Need a Flu Shot This Year" and share the information with others you care about.
