“An Art Bridge mural in New York City (2023)”

SECOND SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

June 22, 2025

This Sunday Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum

will preach a sermon entitled "No Longer"

based on Galatians 3:23-29.

Join us in worship at 10 am.

You can join us in person or via livestream

on Facebook, YouTube, or our Livestream page.

In Our Prayers

  • Lori Godwin asks for prayers for:
  • Matt Miller, her cousin who has fallen ill while serving as an engineer on a commercial vessel at sea. May he get the care he needs and recover quickly.
  • Harry, the son of her friend Jane, who continues to battle significant health issues.

  • Rev. Bynum asks for prayers for quick recovery for his sister Caroline, who has recently been ill.

  • We offer prayers for peace in perilous times:
  • for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East who are living through times of war, violence, hunger, deprivation, and fear,
  • and for public servants who are trying to serve faithfully while under the threat of political violence.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

This August, FORTY(!!!) joyful, curious, and energetic kids will come running through the doors of LAC for our second summer of Compassion Camp. What a blessing these children are to our church! However, by no means is this an easy task. It takes A LOT of preparation. This work is holy and sacred, and it’s messy! It’s loud! It is kinetic and creative, and most of all, IT IS WORTH IT. Last summer’s Compassion Camp was such a success because of the faithful and caring dedication of the volunteers.

And now...Compassion Camp 2025: Changing the World with Loving-Kindness is just around the corner, and we need YOU to help make it the best week of the summer!

Whether you're a master of crafts, a snack-time superstar, a game guru, or just someone who loves seeing kids grow in faith, joy, and compassion, there's a place for you here. There is no advanced preparation, and you can help as little or as much as your schedule allows - a few hours, just one day, or more -- please join us!

What we love the most about LAC is the love that you all have for its children, so together let’s continue to live out our promise to be active participants in building a community where children are nurtured and loved!

If you have any questions, please contact Anna Grace Claunch (agclaunch@lacny.org).

You can sign up to volunteer by clicking the link below.

Liturgists

Volunteer to be a reader in a worship service. The text for the Prayer for Illumination and the scripture reading is provided to you in advance.

LAC Food Connection

Could you prepare a meal for a member of our congregation in need? The LAC Food Connection, under the auspices of the Deacons, provides occasional meals for our members who might have surgery or something that prevents them from cooking themselves. Please contact lacoffice@lacny.org to offer your help. We will add you to our list of volunteers.

And be sure to look for the donation box in the LAC Forest Park entrance foyer, too.

Your Gifts are Vitally Important

Your generosity makes ministry possible.

As you give thanks for the blessings in your life, we hope LAC is on your list!

Did you know that Realm has options for scheduling recurring payments? This is a great way for folks to stay up-to-date on pledged giving while traveling, and helps LAC to continue ministering to our community year-round! Click the GIVE link above, and select the tab to "GIVE MORE THAN ONCE." Here, you will find options to adjust the amount given and set the frequency of gifts. Please contact our bookkeeper, Gloria Haq, at (914)834-1800, ext. 310, with any questions!
