God, Shed Your Grace

-Chris Currie, Prayer of Thanksgiving

Morning Worship, June 21, 2026

Good and gracious God, thank you for the gift of this day, for the freedom and opportunity to worship together, and for the task of serving you and trying to live in our world as your disciples the other six days of the week. We thank you for the Christian education series on various speeches, songs, poems, and letters from American history at the intersection of faith and citizenship. We thank you for beautiful and spacious skies and amber waves of grain where alabaster cities gleam undimmed by human tears, and we thank you for the wonder of our country hosting the World Cup and the many visitors from nations all over the world sharing brotherhood and sisterhood together in our country.

FAITH250

Adult Sunday School Class

May 31 - June 28 | 8:30 a.m. | Phifer Library

Faith250 is a program that invites faith leaders and communities across the country to form clusters of congregations to act as sacred spaces for listening to one another, clarifying our shared civic values, and celebrating our hopes for America. Our final class topic this Sunday will be The Gettysburg Address, led by Chris Currie

Chris Hazlaris Serves as Keynote Speaker at Summit46

Last week our own Chris Hazlaris, SCAPC Youth & Young Adults Director, served as the Keynote Speaker for the Mo-Ranch Summit46 Conference! Summit46 is a conference for fourth-sixth graders in the Texas Hill Country where youth unite around worship, small group conversations, and tons of fun on the Guadalupe River. Chris helped create the conference theme, entitled the “The Great God Quest,” centered on Psalm 139:7-10. As they played, laughed and bonded, the kids grew to understand from the conference how God was and is always all around them – in their highs, in their lows, and in all the moments in between!

Ashley's New Call!

At a congregational meeting on Sunday, June 21, the congregation of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, Maryland, elected former SCAPC pastoral resident Ashley Brown as Associate Pastor, responsible for spiritual formation, mission, and pastoral care. Click here to learn more. Congratulations to you, Ashley! Here she is with some delicious Mid-Atlantic fare!

Camp RHINO

Camp RHINO was a great success! Last week we welcomed eight high schoolers and three adults from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, North Carolina for a week of volunteering, faith, fellowship, and learning. They offered helping hands at Second Harvest Food Bank, The Green Project, Raphael Village, and the Jefferson Food Bank at Jefferson Presbyterian Church.
