President's Message
Dear Daughters,
I am still on a “spiritual high” from our time together at
Spring Retreat! What a blessing it was to be together, worshipping and singing and in fellowship with each other. YOU are all my inspiration to open myself up to Christ and allow His light to shine through me to others. Being with you helps me to keep the light from dimming. What a wonderful gift we are to each other!! We are often asked what it means to be a Daughter. It is very simple to explain, we are Sisters in Christ who shine Christ’s light and love to others. In doing this, we receive God’s Hope, Peace, Love and Joy!!! Thanks be to God for this gift! And may we always be willing to ask, “Lord, what will you have me do?”
Blessings to you!
FHS & Love,
Nadine

PENTECOST, SUNDAY JUNE 8th
| | |
Pentecost is observed on the seventh Sunday after Easter and celebrates the blessing of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ, as mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2:1-31). Guided by Peter's preaching, many thousands were converted in Jerusalem. As we embrace the Spirit’s work in our lives, we are called to walk in unity, reflect Christ’s love, and boldly share the gospel. May this sacred season inspire hearts to grow in faith and experience the boundless blessings of the Holy Spirit, not just during Pentecost but in every moment of life.
PRAYER
Oh God, on this day, you taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending them the light of your Holy Spirit. By that same Spirit, give us a right judgment in all things that we may always rejoice in His holy comfort; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and forever. Amen.
| | TRINITY SUNDAY, JUNE 15th | | |
This year’s Trinity Sunday falls on June 15th. It falls on the first Sunday after Pentecost, which is the 50th day after Easter. Trinity Sunday celebrates a doctrine instead of a figure or an event. The doctrine of the Trinity, which is not present in Scripture, does not have any explanation. Trinity Sunday, in its essence, celebrates the mystery of faith and unity of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Christians celebrate it and God’s love for humans because of their faith and utmost appreciation for the Trinity itself.
PRAYER
May the blessing of the God of peace and justice be with us; May the blessing of the Son who weeps the tears of the world’s suffering be with us; And may the blessing of the Spirit who inspires us to reconciliation and hope be with us from now into eternity. Amen.

The Ravages of Hurricane Helene
As we enter the 2025 hurricane season we can't help but remember the hurricane season of 2024. Hurricane Helene was a deadly and devastating tropical cyclone that caused widespread catastrophic damage and numerous fatalities across the Southeastern United States in late September 2024. It was the strongest hurricane on record to strike the Big Bend region of Florida, the deadliest Atlantic hurricane since Maria in 2017, and the deadliest to strike the mainland U.S. since Katrina in 2005.
St. Anne’s in Crystal River sustained severe damage as the photos below show.

Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
— Matthew 8:2 24- 27 (NIV)

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
— Psalm 34:4 (NIV)
| | |
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ So that everyone he has made may know his work… He brings the clouds … to water his earth and show his love.
— Job 37:5-7, 13 (NIV)
