Have an extra Corvette? We'll take it!
KGOU's partner in accepting vehicle donations, aptly named CARS, gives annual awards to organizations who raise the most funds that way. They're called the Rusty Hubcap Awards, or 'Rustys' for short. The 2023 winners haven't been announced yet, but some interesting front-runners have emerged: the Oldest Vehicle donated last year was a 1926 Ford Model T, donated to Nebraska Public Media; and the Most Valuable Vehicle was a 1963 Corvette Stingray donated to PBS Reno — it netted that station more than $36,000!
While KGOU might never win a Rusty, we do benefit from our generous donors who give us their gas guzzlers, junky jalopies, and broken-down driveway cloggers. For our current fiscal year, they've netted KGOU more than $38,000 in total—thank you! Check out our vehicle donation page to explore whether donating that unneeded car, truck, boat or RV could benefit you, too:
