Hi there!
How are you? I hope you're doing well. 💖
There's a lot happening right now.
Collectively, I feel like we are waking up - Waking to the reality that life is short. We are waking up to the life we really want to live. We are finally saying "ENOUGH!" - enough waiting for the right opportunity to come our way, enough of our bullsh*t and excuses. We are done with playing small, or letting our past dictate our future. We are in the "becoming" of who we were always meant to be, manifesting what we really want, and we are doing that now. Some of us are just waking up to the fact that we WANT to wake up. But regardless, we are all on our way there - I see it in so many of my students and friends.
As Judith Espinosa wrote in Awakening, "There comes a time in life when you finally get it... when in the midst of all the fear and insanity, you stop dead on your tracks.... and somewhere inside your head a voice cries out, ENOUGH! Enough fighting and crying... or struggling, to hold on. And like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, vour sobs begin to subside. You shudder once or twice, you blink back a few tears and through a mantle of wet lashes, you begin to look at the world with new eyes.
This, is your awakening!"
But with that awakening comes the fatigue and pains of transformation - because while we are waking up, the old self likes to hold on for dear life; it doesn't like change. Through this process, we may feel tired, tensed, or upset from all of the internal work we are doing. We also grew so accustomed to our old ways, that anything new rattles us - whether that's new habits, new patterns, new ways of thinking, etc. It takes a lot of energy to shed old skins, to turn the page from the old storylines. Most of the time, it requires us to completely let the old self die so the new self can emerge - ego death, or whatever you'd like to call it - it ain't pretty until it is.
I equate this process to that of the caterpillar going thru its metamorphosis into a butterfly.
Widely romanticized, most consider it to be a beautiful, miraculous experience where the caterpillar crawls up a tree, spins its cocoon, and with a bit of patience and time, poof, pops out flying with wings. 😂🦋Uh uh. 😂While it's definitely magical, it's also painful AF - the caterpillar and most of its cells literally have to go thru a DEATH for it to change into a butterfly. It takes a relentless pursuit, an inordinate amount of energy, and an undying faith in its own ability to do what it was born to do. It has to die in order to be reborn.
And reborn, it is.
That's the thing - it doesn't second guess itself. It doesn't set the expectation that it should look a certain way, or fly at a certain pace, etc. - It just cellularly blooms into its magnificence without any self-imposed pressures. It just does. If only we could get out of our way to naturally do the thing that we were born to do.
I just had the great pleasure of leading a special workshop called "Spring Awakening" in the valley here in LA. I can't tell you how good it felt to be back in a room with my LA Yoga peeps. We breathed, laughed, sweat, danced, and sung in joyous harmony.
To top it off, I was honored to co-facilitate this event with my soul daughter, Marina. She led us through a healing Kundalini Activation Process (KAP) session. What is KAP? Honestly, it's so hard to explain - it's kind of a roto rooter of your emotions and a lighthouse for your soul. Well, you'll just have to experience it on our next workshop!😉 (More details soon about "Blue Skies" on June 7th at 4 PM.) I am so proud of her - this was her big debut and she rocked it! Click the following link for highlights from that day. We had SO much fun! Spring Awakening Reel ✨ Marina is also available for private KAP sessions. To book, please write: marinalb2804@gmail.com
In many ways, healers like Marina have to have their own metamorphosis to heal, and to fly like she is now - the training is intense. So much shedding, inner work, and self-inquiry is required in order to facilitate great healing for others.
That's how our spiritual path is - we work on ourselves so we can help others - our family, our friends, and ultimately ourselves.
But the end result? A person who has awoken to the gifts they were given.
What gifts within you are waiting for you to wake up?
