Ukraine Relief: Last Chance to Give
|
|
As the mother of a son adopted from Ukraine, the last few weeks have been particularly difficult. And so, for my Lenten discipline, I am organizing donations from Trinity for Ukrainian relief.
Based on independent charity ratings, I have chosen Save The Children Fund as where the money will be sent. If you are interested in contributing you may mail/bring a check to the church office.
Please make the check out to Trinity Church with "Ukrainian Relief" in the memo, or you may contribute online here.
We are hoping to have all contributions in by March 31.
I’d like to thank the parishioners who have contributed already. I cannot tell you how touched I am by your kindness and incredible generosity.
Please pray for the people of Ukraine and especially the children.
Peace,
Dolores Bauer
Vestry Member and Coordinator of Ukrainian Relief

The latest news about the kitchen renovation:
The new appliances have been ordered. Given the long lead time needed to receive the appliances and the cabinets, we are looking to begin construction after the Strawberry Festival.
In addition, in preparation for construction of the new building and to protect the campus's electricity service from water damage, the electrical equipment in the existing cellar of Carr-Rice will be upgraded and secured.

MLK's Food 2 Friends Program
|
|
Do you know a food-insecure homebound person?
The MLK Community Center’s Food 2 Friends (F2F) program can help.
Designed for those who need the help from the MLK’s pantry but cannot get to the Center, the program makes monthly deliveries right to the home of registered participants.
F2F volunteers will deliver groceries, fresh milk, eggs, bread, produce, and toiletries.
The program is confidential, free, and open to anyone in Newport County.

Kiwanis Club Honors Robert Smith
|
|
Clipped from the local paper:
Longtime member Robert Smith of Newport was honored with a New England District “red jacket” by the local chapter of the Kiwanis Club for his dedicated volunteer service to the community and club at the organization’s March meeting.
A red jacket recognition comes when a Kiwanis Club member has made a significant donation to the Kiwanis Foundation of the New England Bermuda District. The Kiwanis Club of Newport made the gift in honor of Smith earlier this year.
“Bob Smith joined our Kiwanis Club in 1964 and he has been crucial in leading many service projects and fundraisers over the decades,” said Jim Roehm, Kiwanis Club president.
Congratulations, Bob!
