Big Crowd Expected; Registration Ahead of Schedule
Vaccinations in 2021 have brought out the crowds to conferences and meetings, and MAFP's Annual Meeting is no exception. About 100 family physicians and other attendees are signed up for the July 17-21 event at Baytowne Conference Center in Sandestin, FL. This is in addition to about 50 booths in the exhibit hall. Why don't you join us?

Knowledge Self-Assessment Group Learning Session on Care of Children
Need 8 hours of CME? Join our KSA. Even if you're not working on your requirements for ABFM, you may still receive 8 hours of CME for participating in this session. On Saturday, July 17, from 1-5 pm, MAFP will offer a Knowledge Self Assessment (KSA) group learning session. KSA study groups give you credit for your maintenance of certification through the American Board of Family Medicine. Learners come together to complete the KSA by working through 60 core competency questions. Learners work together to assess, review, and decide the best answer as a group.
ABFM awards 8 credits to diplomates who complete each session. The fee is $125. If you want to take part, contact
Beth Embry.
Coding Afternoon Workshop
We have added for no extra fees an afternoon session for those who want to stay after the CME session on Sunday, July 18, from 1-3 pm. Dr. E.G. "Nick" Ulmer of Charleston, SC, will present "Show Me the Money: Clinically-Correct Coding and Billing." In this 2-hour interactive, case-based discussion, Dr. Ulmer will help clarify the Comparative Billing Reports and help attendees devise a strategy to correctly code, document, and bill the Medicare Wellness Visit. He will also show how to bill chronic disease using the “-25 modifier, and more.
Moderators/Devotional
We have a few slots left for any physician who wants to be a CME session moderator or any physician or family member who would like to give a 15-minute devotion one morning at the Annual Meeting. Interested?
