Playground Mulch

A fresh layer of mulch is being installed today! The Association apologizes for the short notice, but we are happy to have this project completed today!

Welcome to August!

School starts soon, please adjust your driving habits and slow down. Look for pedestrians, especially kids, walking in our neighborhood and crossing our streets. The speed limit is 30 mph throughout the Emory Crossing.

Dumping is Prohibited

Here is a friendly reminder - You are required to call your trash company for all bulk pickups. Residential trash is not permitted in any dumpster or on construction sites within the Emory Crossing Development Area. This includes the Amenity Center dumpster. The Association is fined $500 for this violation, which would be passed onto the resident.

Call Al Clawson to schedule a pickup. A fine can be levied by the Board otherwise.

Dumpster in Commercial Lot

Some have inquired about the dumpster in the commercial lot. The Association does not have any information about who will be located in that lot. We promise to let you know when we know!

The dumpster is for David Weekley. They are moving their model home.

Why is this necessary?

The office receives walk-ins and online submissions for people who cannot be verified. Access cannot be granted without that information. It is disappointing to those who really do live here. It weeds out those who are trying to obtain access without residency.

Updated Facilities Use Agreement

The Board has updated the FUA. This will require you to include your household members on the form.

To help better serve the community, we are asking each household who already has amenity access to update their information with the Association.

Going forward, each resident will need to include this information when applying for access.

Tenants will need to include the Occupancy page of their lease. It should match your household members list.

Update Household Members

Remote Unlock has been disabled. Your phone will need to be at the gate for the access to be granted. The fob holder/resident is required to be with guests at all times. Drop offs are not permitted. If you need amenity access, click the "Update Household Members" link above and apply for it.

Alleyway Signage

Condo and Townhome Owners:

Coming soon, new signage will be installed on the alleyways without existing signs. Some alleys are switching directions! This is to help the flow through the neighborhood and take the bulk of the traffic off Watkinville Road. This will put traffic on the main thoroughfares, allowing easier entry and exits from your homes.

The intersections will have arrows painted on the asphalt.

It is incredibly important that everyone drive the alleyways properly. They are too narrow for anyone to drive the wrong way. The Association has had conversations with the trash company. Because no complaints have been heard since, the office believes the situation has settled. Please do your part to keep the alleyways safe.

Along with the painted arrows, the Amenity Center parking lot will also receive a glow up with new striping.

We hope to have this project completed soon. The Association will give as much notice as possible. The paint dries within 15 minutes.

What happens if you violate an amenity/pool rule?

Depending on the severity, the Board of Directors can levy a fine. They can also revoke amenity access for a period of time.

Pool Monitors

We have pool monitors at the pool for the summer. They may be scheduled randomly, so go ahead and leave the alcohol and pets at home. Your coolers and bags will be checked.

Prohibited at the Amenity Center and in the Pool:

  • Propping the gates
  • Not using your fob to enter (piggy backing/fence jumping)
  • Alcohol.
  • More than 6 guests.
  • Smoking of any kind.
  • Eating in the pool.
  • Wearing street clothes or inappropriate swimwear. Remember, we are "G/PG rated" family-friendly.

Amenity Center Lights

The monitor brought up a situation with our lights. The office is working on having them adjusted.

Parties with more than 6 guests per household are not permitted at the Amenity Center Pavilions or inside the Pool area. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Compliance Corner

Compliance: Most notices sent this week were courtesies. While the language is not the most fun to read (yay, legal), it truly is meant to be a "Hey, just in case you didn't know...."

Please make sure weeds are treated with a post-emergent or pulled by hand. Mowing weeds will not fix the issue. It actually helps spread the seeds, making the issue worse, including spreading them to your neighbor's yards.

Trash cans must be stored out of view when it is not your trash day. This is a city ordinance, as well as an Emory Crossing Association rule.

The only exception to this rule is in the alleyways. The Board has said that trash cans may be left on the driveway near the garage door. This was a big problem noticed this week with them being left at or on the alleyway.

Remember, if you park in the alley or fire lane, you can be towed at your expense.

Now is the time to check your trees. If they are leaning or do not look alive, they most likely need a tree doctor (arborist) to take a look. If your tree needs to be replaced, that will need to take place in September -November to give the tree the best chance against our harsh summers.

If your trees are over 2 years old, please remove the stakes. This helps promote a healthy root system.
