POSTPONED

NEW DATE
September 16, 2021

This year's 2021 Grayling Chamber Business Expo originally scheduled for April 22nd has been
POSTPONED until September 16, 2021
at Ramada Inn due to previous MDHHS guidelines.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are looking for 3-5 volunteers to help from 8am-Noon (2 hour shifts).
If you can spare some time, please contact Carey Jansen, Crawford County Commissioner - District 5 at cjansen@crawfordco.org or via call/text 248-961-3056.
We are holding a garage sale June 19-20 to raise money to fund a Grayling High School (GHS) Scholarship to Kirtland Community College (KCC). If we raise $10,000, KCC will contribute $5,000 to establish a $500 per year scholarship, forever. It will be self funding and help a local student be educated in our local Community College by local instructors. Go Local.

What can you do?
  1. Drop off good saleable items from 4-7pm Monday, June 14th thru Friday, June 18th. Please do this earlier in the week as opposed to later because if we run out of room we will have to curtail taking donations. (tax receipts will be available)
  2. If you want to make a financial donation to the effort checks should be made to the Kirtland Community College Foundation. These are tax deductible.
  3. If you want to volunteer we need workers on the day of the sale 9 to 5 on Saturday and 11 to 3:30 on Sunday. We also need people for set-up and take-down. Contact Wayne Koppa at 989-370-5757 for where you may fit in.

Crawford County Commission on Aging Awarded Great Lakes Energy People Fund Grant
The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center (COA) recently received a $4,000 grant from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund to fund the exercise machines in the new Senior Center. The COA currently owns a recumbent cross trainer called NuStep which will move to the new Center when it opens. This grant will allow for the purchase of a Recumbent Bicycle, an Elliptical and a Rowing Machine. The new Equipped Fitness Room will be named in honor of Great Lakes Energy for its contribution along with many other grants received by the People Fund throughout the COA history. Members of Great Lakes Energy support the People Fund by voluntarily rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar. The rounded-up amount is distributed to non-profit organizations and charitable activities that benefit people in communities served by the cooperative. If you receive your electricity through Great Lakes Energy, please consider participating in this program so that it can continue to provide grants to local organizations. More information is available on this program at Great Lakes Energy, 1-888-485-2537, or at gtlakes.com/people-fund for details.
