On July 14, France celebrates the storming of the Bastille and the French revolution that birthed La République. It will do so in the wake of riots following the killing of 17-year-old, Nahel Merzouk, who was shot dead during a traffic stop in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre by the police. Our distinguished FPA correspondent, Francophile, creator of SubStack's Andelman Unleashed blog, and recipient of the Légion d’Honneur from President Macron, David A. Andelman is currently in Paris and will put the recent riots in the context of a long line of clashes with authorities and events in the U.S.

The Zoom briefing will take place at noon (EDT) on Monday, July 10th
