I am delighted to share with you that Trinity Church will soon have a new priest on staff. The Reverend Annie Jung will be joining us straight from Virginia Theological Seminary and will be ordained to the priesthood on June 15th at Trinity. Below you will find her photo and a bio. In the coming weeks we will be sharing ways that we might welcome her to our community. Until then, please keep Annie and her family in your prayers during this transition.
Introducing The Reverend Annie Jung
Annie Knazs Jung is beyond excited to join the Trinity Church and School community. Upon graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary in May with a Master of Divinity and Spirituality Concentration, she will join the Trinity family this summer.

Together with her husband Stephen, Bella (20), Finley (14), and Garner (12), and pup, Magnolia-- Annie's return to the Diocese of Louisiana is a joyful occasion to be with local friends and family.

Annie currently serves as a Deacon at St. Andrew's in Arlington, Virginia where she worshipped during seminary throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. She was previously the Summer Hospital Chaplain Intern at Ochsner, Main Campus and was also selected for the Preaching Excellence Program in summer of 2021. As part of Annie's spirituality focused formation, she attended a Spiritual Immersion Retreat in Florence & Sienna, Italy, and completed Yoga Mass clergy certification.

Previous to seminary, Annie's ministry included Youth Ministry spanning over two decades, both in parish level at St. James, Baton Rouge and St. Lukes, Baton Rouge, and at the Diocesan level. Annie also served at three Episcopal Day Schools in Baton Rouge as a Religion teacher, School Counselor, Community Service Program Coordinator, and Admissions team member.

In conjunction with ongoing ministry, Annie graduated from Louisiana State University, receiving a B.A in Mass Communication, Public Relations (2000), and an M.A in Community Counseling (2007). She was a Mental Health Counselor for 15 years, working in medical offices, schools, community outreach programs, and her LPC private practice (in California and Louisiana.)

One of Annie's favorite quotes is from New Orleans' local artist, Simon: "Life is a series of Fat Tuesdays and Ash Wednesdays." She believes in the sacred nature of holding space for life's ups and downs, celebration and sorrow, and all the value of the space between the bookends of our life journey. Annie shares her gratitude and awe at the magnificent opportunity to serve as one of your clergy. Until then, you know she is gathering more black and gold sequined accessories, and practicing an energetic, "Who Dat!"
We are so excited to welcome Annie!
