Scammers are using a new tactic to take control of your calls, texts and accounts by calling and urging you to enter a short code followed by a phone number to ‘protect your information.’ Do NOT do it. Entering the code activates call forwarding, and sends your calls and texts straight to the scammer, allowing them to intercept verification codes, reset passwords and access your accounts.
Stay protected by keeping your two-factor authentication codes private and monitoring your accounts regularly. If something ever feels off, contact us right away.
