2024 Impact Report & Take Action Today!

Dear Anchor House Community,

In case you missed our 2024 Impact Report, we invite you to read about our accomplishments and be a part of the solution to challenges we are facing today.

Anchor House, and the nonprofit sector, is facing uncertainty with threats to government funding.  We currently rely on government support for 61% of our operating budget.

Ongoing instability at the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) means threats to funding for homelessness services at the federal and state levels.  HUD provides funds to our local Continuum of Care (CoC). CoC funding for homelessness services is at risk for budget cuts in FY26. New Jersey is also experiencing cuts to mental health services.

A reduction or elimination of government funding would greatly impact the important work we do, highlighted in this report, to help youth who are facing abuse, neglect and homelessness.

You can donate to Anchor House and/or advocate to secure and expand CoC funding by calling the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected with the House or Senate office you request.

We remain committed to delivering our mission and together we can fight for the critical support our youth so desperately need.

Thank you for taking action to continue to move our work forward.

Anchor House helps to prevent and end youth homelessness and prepares youth to live productive and independent lives. Responding to critical needs in the community, Anchor House provides the only youth shelter, transitional living, and street outreach program targeting youth in Mercer County, and one of two supportive housing programs in the county for young adults. Our mission is to provide youth and young adults who are experiencing abuse, neglect, homelessness, or are aging out of the child welfare system with comprehensive services that offer them and their families the support they need to succeed and thrive. From emergency shelter to transitional and permanent housing, Anchor House works to ensure our young people have a safe home as well as supportive and educational services for a better future.
