  • When: Friday, Jan. 9-Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026
  • New Student Orientation Check-In: 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Panasci Lounge (3rd floor, Schine Student Center)
  • Welcome Session Begins: Friday, Jan. 9, 3:45 p.m. (arrive on time!)
  • Free Parking: University Avenue Garage (UAG)

Check-In Process

Step 1: Get Your Key and Syracuse University ID (SUID) Card


For detailed move-in information, visit the Spring Semester Move-In webpage.


Step 2: New Student Orientation Check-In

After receiving your key and SUID card, all students should proceed to Panasci Lounge (3rd floor, Schine Student Center) between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to check in for the orientation program.


You will receive the following items during check-in.

  • Spring New Student Orientation Guide and full orientation schedule
  • Nametag
  • Syracuse University swag


Bringing Guests? Families and supporters should check in at the same location.

Parking & Transportation

Parking is available on campus for free. Students and guests should park in the University Avenue Garage (1101 East Adams Street, Syracuse, NY 13210).


Garage Hours

  • Friday, Jan. 9: Open until 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 10: Open until 5 p.m.


Note that New Student Programs does not provide shuttles to or from Syracuse Hancock International Airport or the Regional Transportation Center. Please arrange your own transportation to campus.

Required Tasks

Please complete the following important tasks before you arrive to campus.



1. Submit Your SUID Card Photo

You will receive your Syracuse University ID card upon checking into your residence hall or Goldstein Student Center. Submit your photo now!


2. Complete Health Requirements

Learn how to submit health records.

  • Health History Form
  • Immunization Records
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Questionnaire
  • Minor Consent Form (if applicable)


3. Take Placement Exams

Complete any required academic placement exams based on your school, college or intended major. Learn more about placement exams.


4. Submit Official Transcripts

Ensure your official final high school and college transcripts have been sent to Syracuse University. Contact the Office of Admissions at orange@syr.edu or 315.443.3611.


5. Complete the Pre-Spring New Student Orientation Survey

Your responses help us better support you throughout the program. Complete the survey now!


6. Review All Required Tasks

Visit the Required Tasks webpage and complete any outstanding items before orientation or by the listed deadlines.

Campus Tours

New students interested in touring campus and the Barnes Center at The Arch can join optional walking tours led by the Syracuse University 100 (U100) tour guides.


  • When: Friday, Jan. 9, 2026; tours depart on the hour from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Where: Second floor of Schine Student Center (in front of the Campus Store and the Gaming & Esports Center)
  • Duration: Approximately one hour.
