Evans Roofing Honored with 2026 Florida Preservation Award

Evans Roofing is proud to share that our work on the St. James AME Church metal reroof project in Sanford, Florida, was recognized with the 2026 Florida Preservation Award.

Completed in close partnership with the City of Sanford, this project helped protect a historic and deeply valued place of worship while strengthening it for the future. Through careful coordination, church services and community activities continued with minimal disruption as our team delivered structural improvements and a modern metal roofing system built for long-term durability.

For Evans Roofing, this project was more than a reroof. It was an opportunity to help preserve an important cultural landmark, support the community, and contribute to Sanford’s heritage for generations to come.

Thank you to the City of Sanford, St. James AME Church, and everyone involved in this meaningful project. A special thank you to the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation for hosting the event and awards, and for recognizing work that protects Florida’s historic places.

Construction material prices continue to rise

“Construction input prices surged again in April,” said ABC Chief Economist Anirban Basu. “Input prices have now risen more during the first four months of 2026 (6.2%) than over the prior three years (4.8%). While much of the recent rise can be traced to soaring oil prices, escalation was widespread in April, with tariff-affected materials like iron and steel posting particularly large price increases.

Review Spotlight

"I personally interviewed 6 local roofers and got quotes from each. Evans came in late in the process and identified area of concern and offered unique solutions. Bastien, the owner, took time to educate me and offer options based on longevity vs price.

Their pricing was reasonable and in some case 1/2 of the most well-known names.

His project mgr was on-site daily. The follow up after the installation was above and beyond. Soon after installation, we experienced torrential rains and all was good.

Now that I added solar to my new standing seam metal roof, Bastien has been there coaching the solar group Regions Solar on how to anchor footings properly. I would definitely recommend Evans Roofing."
