New Initiative! TIDE's Lunch & Learn Mentorship Program đź“š

Who wants free lunch? You don't need to raise your hand. We know you do.

TIDE is happy to announce our Lunch & Learn Mentorship Program. We will select undergraduate college students in the Bay Area, Austin and New York to have lunch with executives in investment management. The saying goes: Talent is universal, opportunity is not. Let's help bring more opportunities with exposure and access to you! This program is specially funded by a gift dedicated to highlighting finance and the investment management industry to underrepresented talent. The students will be in their Junior and Senior years of an undergraduate college program which as we all know can be quite transformative!

We will pay for your lunch (no seafood towers or wagyu add-ons please! You know who you are.) with the student as you connect with them over a meal to discuss your background and journey in investment management. We hope this will open their eyes to new opportunities that they didn't know existed in the field of finance. 

To participate, please email grace@tidexchange.com with your background and why you'd like to have lunch with one of our selected students. We will select the profiles we think match well with the students and get back to you with additional details.

Camp TIDE 🏕️

Inspired by Chaunice Wilks and Quyen Tran over some cocktails in Miami during the Context365, iConnections and MFA conferences along with the success of TIDE ATX Investment Happy Hour last year, we thought it'd be cool to host a camp for investment professionals! We're still in the early stages of planning it out, but you already know if TIDE is hosting then it will be lit like campfire. See what we did there?

The 15th Annual Emerging Manager & MWBE Conference is an opportunity for attendees to connect with New York State Common Retirement Fund investment staff and partners. In a virtual environment, this year’s Conference will continue to offer investment managers the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the Fund's investment process and manager selection.

Small breakout sessions allow our staff and partners to establish new relationships with highly qualified MWBEs in the investment arena, and continue to build a pipeline of investments and service providers that enable the Fund to reap the benefits of diversity for members, retirees and beneficiaries of the New York State & Local Retirement System.

We'll discuss:
  • The Fund’s selection and onboarding process of investment managers;
  • Current areas of the Fund’s investment focus; and
