Hello Mai Yang,

As we welcome the arrival of spring, March reminds us of the beauty in change. Just as the seasons transition from winter’s chill to the warmth of spring, we too experience moments of growth and transformation. Spring symbolizes renewal, fresh beginnings, and the promise of bright days ahead.

March also brings an opportunity to honor the incredible work of our social workers during National Social Worker Month. This month, we celebrate their unwavering dedication to improving lives, and making a lasting impact in communities. Our social workers play a vital role in navigating the challenges individuals and families face, offering compassion, support, and empowerment. Let’s take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate their tireless efforts in making the world a better place.

Wishing you a season of growth, renewal, and gratitude!

With gratitude,

Heidi Wingo

Executive Director

Happy Social Workers Month

March is National Social Work Month, and at Foothills Compassionate Care, we are honored to celebrate the dedicated social workers who provide unwavering support to our patients and families.

Hospice and palliative care can be an emotional journey, filled with difficult decisions and unexpected challenges. Our social workers serve as compassionate guides, offering emotional support, resource navigation, and advocacy to ensure patients and families feel heard, prepared, and supported every step of the way.

From helping families access financial assistance and coordinating care plans to providing grief counseling and a listening ear, our social workers are at the heart of what we do. Their presence brings comfort, dignity, and reassurance when it’s needed most.

This month, we recognize and thank these incredible professionals for their dedication and compassion. If you have been touched by a Foothills Compassionate Care social worker, we invite you to share your story and join us in honoring their vital work.

Patient Volunteer Training

One of the most important things a volunteer can offer a patient is time: time to sit with them, time to listen to their stories and share their lives, and time to offer caregivers a break from the difficult tasks of caring for a loved one. Patient Support Volunteer training is March 17-21. This training is a prerequisite for bereavement volunteers.
