LifeWorks at WKU breaks ground
WKU President Timothy C. Caboni, representatives from the Board of Directors of LifeWorks at WKU and local officials broke ground Monday on a two-year residential program designed to provide living, working and recreation support for individuals on the autism spectrum who are 21 years of age and older and are ready to enter the workforce. 

“At WKU, we work to transform the lives of our students and elevate our community,” President Caboni said. “Public/private partnerships, such as this, are incredibly important to our efforts in accomplishing our mission.”

The residential buildings for LifeWorks at WKU will be located at 1328 Adams St. and will be completed through a renovation of existing apartment buildings.

At a luncheon on Oct. 15, the Mahurin Honors College at WKU honored 27 students from 15 high schools in the Nashville area for their academic achievements. Learn More
WKU Forensics Team wins weekend debate tournaments
The WKU Forensics Team won the team sweepstakes championships at both debate tournaments hosted by the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, the weekend of Oct. 19-20. The WKU team defeated 12 other schools, including Truman State University, Missouri State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Next weekend the team will travel to two locations: Illinois State University and Owensboro Community and Technical College.
WKU Regents to conduct committee meetings Friday
The WKU Board of Regents will conduct committee meetings on Friday (Oct. 25). The meetings begin at 9 a.m. in the Martin Regents Room, Jody Richards Hall.
Spotlight: WKU Symphony
The WKU Symphony's annual Halloween Concert has been a campus and community favorite with performances of orchestral music of a spectacular, supernatural or fantastic nature. The fifth annual concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Van Meter Hall features Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni , Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun , Bernard Herrmann's music from the movie Psycho , and Dvorak's mature masterwork, the tone poem The Water Goblin .
