Dear 3rd Street Community, 

As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of youth services in San Francisco, I am pleased to share with you some reflections on the moment we’re in, and exciting updates on our recent endeavors.

Over the past decade, independent of the pandemic’s challenges, it’s difficult to recall a time when the world seemed so fraught with uncertainty and yet still so full of hope. Despite global wars, a constricting economy, inflation, pervasive homelessness, and housing shortages, the path to a better future shines brightly before us. 

I am delighted to share some significant progress we have made this year. Since January, we have successfully eliminated our waitlist and provided essential mental health services to 257 youths. This achievement underscores our commitment to supporting the mental well-being of our community's young people and ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.

In addition, in February, we celebrated the 3rd anniversary of the Lower Polk TAY Navigation Center. Over the past three years, we have helped more than 750 transition-age youth (TAY) move from the streets into stable housing. We are proud to offer integrated substance abuse and mental health counseling to all our guests, ensuring they receive comprehensive support as they transition to a better life.

Looking ahead, our commitment remains unwavering to guide young people through our programs, equipping them with the tools and resources they need to transition into independent, empowered individuals. And with your continued support, we can ensure that every young person who walks through our doors finds not only a place to stay, but also a place to belong.
