Dear CHUSY,
I’m writing to share that after three incredible years as your Community Director, I will be stepping away as of today, March 31st, to begin the next chapter of my journey as a high school history teacher.
Serving CHUSY has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I truly had one of the coolest jobs, getting to work with such passionate teens, dedicated leaders, and an amazing community.
My journey with USY began in 2020, when I was invited by Gillian Sherman to speak at a BJUSY Israel Affairs event. At the time, I was teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies, and I remember Zooming in from an empty science lab after school to talk about the history of Israel. Not long after, I joined Gillian as a BJUSY Youth Advisor in 2021.
After attending my first USY convention that year, I saw firsthand just how powerful and meaningful this community is. I knew I wanted to be part of creating that experience for others. In 2023, I was given that opportunity, and I’m so grateful I said yes.
The CHUSY community has meant so much to me and always will.
To my Chicago office family, Alex, Avram, and Marc, thank you for your collaboration and friendship. I will miss all of our office shenanigans.
To my CHUSY team, Max and Maddie, thank you for your constant support and partnership. CHUSY would not be what it is without you.
To Sam Bolen, mazel tov on stepping into this role. It is an incredible responsibility, but also an incredibly rewarding one. I have full confidence in you and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.
To my REB, I am so proud of each of you. You have taught me so much and made this job feel like so much more than work. I will always be in your corner, cheering you on.
To the USY team, thank you for your collaboration, partnership, and dedication. I will truly miss working with all of you.
And to CHUSY, thank you for an unforgettable three years. It has been an honor.
B’Ahava,
Parker Weber
