TEQUILA TASTING!
April 29th, 4:00-6:30PM
Get your tickets NOW!
|
|
Join us for our first in-house Tequila tasting. Tickets are $20 a person, call or visit the store to get yours now. There will be four tables with each having a unique lineup of tequila (and a few mezcal). Our goal for this event is to highlight some hidden gems in the tequila world alongside some of our tried and true favorites. Some of the brands that we will featured are...
El Tequileno
The home of El Tequileño is the historic ‘La Guarreña” distillery located in the magical town of Tequila. El Tequileño is exclusively made here and this has not changed since it was founded by Don Jorge Salles Cuervo in 1959. El Tequileño is one of only 8 brands of tequila that is exclusively made at its own distillery. Recently, the distillery was rated #3 top distillery out of 130 distilleries on tastetequila.com
Cazcanes
Cazcanes sources natural artesian water for our tequila. The water starts off as rain or snow high up on the pristine peaks of the San Pedro de los Landeros mountains. It slowly travels through natural minerals deep within the volcanic mountains before emerging at the Navichi springs. Hand-selected Weber Blue Lowland (Tequila Valley) Agave grown in Volcanic Tufa Soil at 4000-6000 ft is harvested during peak sugar levels to deliver a distinct Cazcanes taste. The ‘piñas’ are then cooked, and crushed to extract and concentrate their flavors. Next comes fermentation using natural, wild yeast, and then distillation in our alembic stills.
Volans
Where a tequila is distilled has a huge impact on the quality and flavor. There are many factors that can influence the taste, including the quality of ingredients, the geographic location, the type of equipment used, the time of year it is produced and much more. The best distilleries take all factors into consideration and strive to create the best environment for tequila production. That’s why Volans is made at El Pandillo Distillery. One of the most sustainable, iconic, and innovative distilleries in Mexico. El Pandillo is run by Felipe Camarena, whose great-great grandfather was among the first to start farming blue agave in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico in the 1800s. He is the third generation and his sons are the fourth generation of distilling some of the best and authentic craft tequila in Mexico. We only use the most mature and sweetest Blue Weber Agave, matched with a blend of spring, rain and deep well water (+450 feet). Our Agaves are then cooked in a traditional stone oven for 22 hours and crushed by an innovative handmade tahona named “Frankenstein.” We use copper pot stills for both distillations.
Banhez
Raised in Oaxaca, Francisco Javier Perez Cruz saw the hardship that followed families making mezcal. This was part of their heritage but the life was hard and unsustainable, forcing families to separate. Knowing first-hand what it meant to leave family behind in search of work, he thought that if he could keep the hard-working families together and devise a way for them to work towards a common goal, they could be successful. After retuning to Ejutla with his own family, Francisco was appointed Treasurer of Ejutla in 1996 and Mayor in 1999. He learned how to grow and harvest Espadín working with his brother Bertoldo’s farm. His work, inspired by his own family, has changed the tradition of making mezcal into a community, one committed to the quality of their craft, and raising one another other up. Today, the Banhez Cooperative of farmers and producers, unified by Francisco Javier, form the Unión Productores de Agropecuarios del Distrito de Ejutla de Crespo (UPADEC) and is run by his son, Luis. The life of a mezcalero once meant inconsistent work, low wages and an uncertain future. The farming families behind the Banhez Cooperative are changing this, improving lives now and for generations to come.
And many more including Ana Maria, Libelula, and others! Get your tickets now before they are all gone!

Zaccagnini
Rosé
2020
$14.99 reg. $16.99
Zaccagnini has added a perfect complement to its extremely successful Montepulciano and Pinot Grigio wines by releasing this beautiful Rose. It is made from a tasty blend of Montepulciano, and Sangiovese grapes, harvested from a single vineyard. It has attractive pink-coral color and possesses bright, fresh white blossom aromas. On the palate it is light bodied with delicate mouth-watering red berry flavors.
An extremely versatile wine, it is great as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with all seafood, poultry, creamy, soft cheeses, charcuterie and spicy foods.

Rosé
2019
$11.99 reg. $19.99
Winemaking is light handed, with timely and deliberate choices made to craft a wine that genuinely reflects the vineyard and vintage. This rose has bright aromas and flavors, fresh acidity and a clean finish which is due to selecting exceptional blocks of fruit and picking early in the season when the acidity is naturally high and the sugars are low.
Wine Enthusiast- 92 Points
Pretty aromas of cherry pie, rose and blood orange highlight a crisp, lengthy explosion of fresh fruitiness in this vineyard-designated wine. Meyer lemon and watermelon linger on the lengthy finish.
Pico Maccario
Lavignone
Rosato
2019
$13.99 reg. $16.99
Pale salmon in appearance, Lavignone Rosato is beautiful to look at. It is even better to drink, however, as the nose and palate are met by playful aromas of wild strawberry, watermelon, cranberry, fresh-cut grass, and river stone. A refreshing, but modest, backbone of acidity supports a round mouth-feel and velvety texture. The dry and balanced finish leaves the palate feeling clean and refreshed.
E. Guigal
Cotes Du Rhone
Rosé
2020
$13.99 reg. $16.99
The Guigal family has made serious dry rosé wines since the 1940s, and their Côtes du Rhône Rosé, like all their Côtes du Rhône wines, is humble in name only. The wine bursts with irresistible fresh red fruits and yet is also serious and satisfying. While this Rosé is always a lovely aperitif, its intensity and richness make it perfect for the table, and it pairs well with all manner of cuisines. And starting with the 2020 vintage, the wine has a stunning new proprietary bottle: a subtle enhancement for an already elegant wine!
Clear, brilliant and fresh.
Fresh with an expressive nose of red fruits and citrus. Notes of raspberry and redcurrant. On the palate fruity, fine and round.
A well-balanced and elegant wine.
70% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Syrah

Dynamo Copper Lager
Vienna-style Lager

STYLE SPOTLIGHT:
VIENNA LAGER
|
|
This reddish-copper lager has an interesting history. Developed in Vienna, Austria by Anton Dreher, this groundbreaking beer was introduced in 1841 - the same year as another famous amber lager, the German Marzen (of Oktoberfest fame) - and just one year before the most famous of all lagers (and beer for that matter), the pilsner, developed in Plzen, Czechoslovakia.
This two-year stretch transformed modern beer as we know it.
Check out these other Vienna-style lagers in stock:
Drekker Suggin' on Chili Dogs Vienna-style Lager
$11.99 | 4pk 16oz can
Brewer's Notes:
A little ditty 'bout Suggin’ on Chili Dogs...
Our crisp & malty Vienna Lager brewed with Vienna & Munich malts on a Maris Otter base and hopped with juuuuust the right amount of Czech Saaz. If you’re one of the wonderful weirdos who’ve been begging for this to come back, we see you, we hear you, and we hope you’re as pumped as we are to have this around again!
Pig Minds Krumelbier Vienna Lager
$13.99 | 4pk 16oz can
Brewer's Notes:
Krumelbier is our new Vienna-Style Lager brewed entirely with German ingredients. Lovingly lagered for 8 weeks to be smooth and medium-bodied while not too heavy or bitter. It’s safe to say, we did plenty of our own research for this one...with lots of taste testing.
