Greetings!
“God is pure Spirit but our salvation was accomplished when the Spirit was made flesh.” – Flannery O’Connor
Entering into this third week of Advent we are called to rejoice in anticipation of Jesus’ arrival, past, present, and future. In this week of celebration, as many schools return to traditions and programs that were paused over the last two years, we trumpet the Good News.
We evangelize; that is, we “gospel” with the love of Christ shining through our works in the children we serve. These celebrations are irresistibly Catholic as we radiate the joy of the Gospel. The Spirit comes alive in the lived, human experience of these incarnational moments that serve as a reminder that good has already triumphed in the salvation realized in the person of Jesus.

Thank you to those schools who have submitted photos to Cathy Wise for the Celebration of Light. If you haven’t yet, please make sure to submit them by the end of this week to ensure they will be included in this year’s slideshow.
The Keystone will take a two-week break and will return with a Tuesday edition on January 3. I pray that you continue to be filled with the hope of Advent and wish you all a merry Christmas filled with the joys and blessings of Christ and the company of family and friends.
Faithfully,
NICHOLAS FORD | Superintendent
Office for Catholic Schools | Archdiocese of Seattle
