ST. PAUL'S INDY FY2026 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN

Thank you to everyone that attended Picnic with a Purpose last Sunday, and to all that have helped us meet $590,526.64 of our $900,000 goal!

The picnic may have moved indoors due to the weather, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of community, generosity and joy we experienced together. We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding turnout and the unwavering support of St. Paul's Indy's amazing parishioners, clergy and staff, and community partners! We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Bill Burns and his band, BSA Scout Troops 73 & 173, Hedgehog Hannah, Nameless Catering and Indy Entertainers LLC — who helped make the picnic unforgettable. It was a beautiful reminder that no matter where we gather, when we come together with purpose and love, community always wins.

136 HOUSEHOLDS & COUNTING - WILL YOU BE NEXT?

We are grateful to the one hundred thirty-six households who have already submitted their estimate of giving to St. Paul’s for FY2026 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). Join the growing Honor Roll of Households who have made their commitment — complete your estimate of giving by May 31. You can also text 2026GIFT to 97000 or fill out a pledge card on Sunday. Children and youth stewardship is encouraged; please click here for details.

INTERIM RECTOR REFLECTION :: CREATING COMMUNITY

Who is the Guy in the Habit?

At last Sunday’s all-parish picnic, I had the pleasure of getting to know parishioner Chris Ndife (In-DEE-fay) and his wife, Kayla Ndife.

Chris has been a faithful 9:00er since 2019. He came to the Episcopal Church when a friend suggested he check it out when he was in the process of reconnecting to his Christianity after leaving the Methodist Church.

A few years ago, Chris, a software engineer by trade, found himself asking, “can I really do this for the rest of my life?” He felt called to something deeper. Someone from St. Paul’s suggested Education for Ministry (EfM), an intensive four-year small-group formation program based on study and practice in theological reflection. It was through this course, offered by the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis, that Chris met Brother Jerome and Brother Ronan, members of the Companions of St. Luke.

Click below to read the Rev. Devon Anderson's full story about parishioner, Chris Ndife:

Driven by our mission to "create community," we plan to transform this space by featuring introductions to the people — both new and longtime — of St. Paul's Indy, gradually replacing weekly rector’s reflections. Click here to email Meegan Kriner if you are willing to share part of your own story.

NOW THROUGH SUNDAY

MOSAIC BOOK CLUB

TODAY, Thursday, May 8, 6:30-8 p.m.

Fire by the Monon Restaurant

Join the Mosaic Book Club in exploring the book Yellowface by R. F. Kuang (an Asian American author more known for her fantasy novels prior to this book). The main character, June Hayward, is a struggling writer, so when she witnesses a fellow author, Athena Liu’s, death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse, stealing a just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers during World War I. Kuang pitches her book as a satire of the publishing industry and the “complex lies, ethical implications, and social commentary surrounding cultural appropriation and racism.” All are welcome to join, regardless of reading the book. Please click here to email Susie Holtz with your RSVP or to ask questions, or text her at 317.370.4262.
