Colder days bring darker commuting hours

This time of year brings shorter days and darker commuting hours, so more people are out when it is dark and harder to see. The highest number of collisions involving pedestrians and cyclists happen between October and December.

All of us—drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter riders—have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. For tips, visit durham.ca/DurhamWorks.

Call for artists: New public art opportunity

Applications are now open for a public art project to help transform everyday infrastructure into engaging public art. We are seeking artists to create vibrant artwork that will be reproduced as wraps on a pair of traffic cabinets at street corner locations throughout Durham Region. This art will enhance streetscapes and create moments of discovery for residents and visitors.
