Welcome Hyla Marlin to the Food Hub team!
Hyla is our newest Warehouse Coordinator. She is joining Alex, Abby and Jess to help our ever- growing middle of the supply chain operations.
Hyla recently moved to Vermont from New Hampshire where she grew her love for working with local fresh food as a gluten free baker.
Hyla graduated from UNC Asheville with a health and wellness degree. During her academic education, she developed a passion for public health and health equity. She is growing her experiences in these areas while also empowering herself and others to gain access to the food, community, and resources needed to thrive.
Please give Hyla a warm welcome when you see her at the Food Hub!

Join us at Lincoln Peak Vineyard for an evening celebrating Peak Summer and learning about the ACORN Food Hub!
Local food producers Hannah Sessions of Blue Ledge Farm & Jess Messer of Savouré Soda will speak about their experiences with ACORN and why they work with the Food Hub.
Sip on Jess' sodas or sample a flight of Lincoln Peak's wine (or taste a refreshing spritzer that combines the two!) while sampling Hannah's cheeses along with the bounty of the summer. Nichole from Lincoln Peak will be on hand to discuss pairing their wines with local products.
Donations encouraged; RSVPs requested. Complimentary light bites; cash bar.

| | Migrant Justice and Vermont Way Foods Launch Organic Cheese | | |
The Milk with Dignity Program is expanding, bringing a new product to market.
Last fall, a partnership developed between Migrant Justice and the organic brand Vermont Way Foods to produce Cheese with Dignity.
We love so, so much about this partnership. It is the first certified Organic and certified Milk with Dignity cheese ever - meaning they are in compliance with human rights along the full supply chain.
AND add in the fact that the milk comes from small family farm Severy Farm in Cornwall (a stop on the Tour de Farms!), and Carleton Yoder of Champlain Valley Creamery is crafting the cheeses just down Exchange Street from us, well, we're just about out of our minds about it!
The cheese is for sale and available on the ACORN online market (just went live today!) and on store shelves across Vermont!

Justin Lalumiere and his family are facing an incredibly difficult time. Justin, a dedicated farmer, suffered a stroke on Memorial Day and underwent emergency surgery for a large blood clot going into his brain. He spent five days in the ICU, with his wife AnnaJo by his side, while their two young children were cared for by family members. Although Justin was able to return home and begin his recovery, he still has a small tear in his heart that will need to be repaired.
