Art & Film
Art comes in all forms, including cinema. Here we enjoy sharing films that involve the world of art and art history. This movie has an all star line up of actors and based on a true story.
Maria Altmann, an octogenarian Jewish refugee, takes on the Austrian government to recover artwork she believes rightfully belongs to her family.
Woman in Gold is based on the true story of Maria Altmann, an Austrian Jewish woman who escaped the Nazis and found a home in the US, from where, in 1999, as an old woman, she began a sensational legal campaign to reclaim from the Austrian government several paintings stolen from her family by the Nazis.
