Is Your Association Ready for Monsoon Season?
Arizona’s monsoon season typically starts June 15th and goes through September. Our firm is often asked what immediate steps the board can take if the association is damaged by a storm. While we can’t control natural disasters, we can be prepared. For more information about how your board can prepare for monsoon season, read our blog entitled, "Monsoon Madness – Be Prepared!" HERE.
Friendly reminder, an emergency may require the board to take immediate action. In such situations, a board can suspend the 48-hour notice of a meeting required by AZ law and conduct an emergency board meeting. To review the rules and requirements for conducting emergency board meetings, visit our website and read our Cheat Sheet© Community Association Board Meetings.
With luck, your association will not need to implement a disaster plan or hold an emergency meeting. However, being prepared should something happen gives the board of directors and association members direction and a sense of peace. If you require assistance regarding emergencies in community associations, please contact Mulcahy Law Firm, P.C.
