The Village and Town of Ossining have partnered with Sustainable Westchester to launch the interactive Recycle Right mobile app to make it even easier for residents to stay connected about waste and recycling collection programs.
Residents can download our FREE mobile app, Recycle Right, for Apple or Android smartphones.
You’ll find the garbage, recycling, and special pick-up collection schedule specific to your house address in the mobile app. The mobile app can also remind you of your collection day, so you’ll never forget again!
If you don’t have an Apple or Android smartphone, you can also visit our website (click here) and search your home address in our My Schedule tool. You can then:
- Sign up for waste collection reminders by email, phone call, or text message.
- Download your collection schedule into your iCal, Google calendar, or Microsoft Outlook calendar.
- Print your collection schedule.
- Access to the following languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, French, Punjabi and Japanese.
“For many years, the Village of Ossining has been a leader in sustainability," said Mayor Rika Levin. "With the Recycle Right app, individuals can easily be reminded about specific collection days. This new app will enhance household waste management: Knowing how and when to dispose of household items properly in real-time allows residents to be part of the culture of sustainability."
"I am excited the Village is now partnering with Sustainable Westchester to offer this app to Village of Ossining residents,” said Town of Ossining Supervisor Dana Levenberg. “Town residents who have accessed this app over the past several years have found it very helpful, especially access to Recyclopedia. It offers a wealth of information about disposing of or upcyling a variety of home materials, helping support sustainability for all its users. I am glad more local residents will now have access to this amazing resource."
