ALIA, Demystified

Reporting to ALIA is a critical first step but, for some, what happens next can feel uncertain. Questions about process, involvement, and potential outcomes often loom large once a report is made. The good news is that the post‑reporting journey is structured, supported, and designed to guide you every step of the way.

The Canadian Bar Association – Alberta Branch published, “Demystifying ALIA: What Happens After a Report to ALIA?” the latest article in the Demystifying ALIA series by Senior Claims Counsel, Brett Stuart. The article explains what lawyers can expect after making a report to ALIA and covers various scenarios, including for potential claims, possible repairs, and defence retainers. If you have not read the earlier installments of this article series (Part 1: What to report, Part 2: When to report), it is worth doing so for a fuller understanding of ALIA’s processes.
