Dear LT Community,

At the end of the week, LT will begin a much deserved Spring Break, which will hopefully include rest, relaxation, and time spent with family and friends. Spring Break also serves as a chance to reflect on how much our school community continues to accomplish collectively.

I am excited for what’s been an amazing 2025-26 school year to date, and look forward to a strong finish in Quarter 4 as we celebrate the Class of 2026. I want to share a few important items with our community from our Quarter 3. We have much to celebrate and share.

By the Numbers

In January, we mailed our annual By The Numbers publication, and I hope that you enjoyed this printed piece in your mailbox. This brochure serves to showcase highlights of our mission to Excellence, Innovation, and Empowerment. While it doesn’t capture every accomplishment from the past year, it offers a meaningful snapshot of the many ways we’re advancing our strategic plan and celebrates the achievements of our students, staff, and community. The numbers and stories included here reflect what makes LT such a special place.

State Champion Special Olympics Basketball Team

For the first time in over 20 years, the LT Special Olympics Basketball Team are State Champions! We were proud to celebrate these amazing student athletes with an all school assembly at both campuses. Please click here to view highlights.

Dedication of Stacy Ann Baker Varsity Softball Field

On Tuesday, April 7th at 4pm we are hosting a special dedication ceremony honoring alum Stacy Ann Baker with the unveiling of the newly constructed Stacy Ann Baker Softball Field, generously donated by the Baker Family.

Together, we will celebrate Stacy’s legacy and her impact on our school community. The program will include school leadership, members of the Baker family, and former teammates, followed by a

ceremonial first pitch before the 4:45 Leyden game. Join us to celebrate her legacy which will continue to inspire future generations of student-athletes for years to come.

LT Community Advisory Council

The LT Community Advisory Council (LTCAC) meets quarterly to learn about, discuss, and provide feedback on important school-related topics. The LTCAC serves as a critical communication link between community members and the school, and members include students, parents, community members, staff, and administrators.

Our final LTCAC meeting of the year is scheduled for 6:30pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The topic is Career Pathways at LTHS, and we hope to see as many community members as possible in attendance.

Institute Day

On Friday, March 20, LTHS certified staff participated in a day of professional learning that focused on growth and continuous improvement as educators.  Thanks to our community partner, Optwell, for leading us in a Mindful Movement session to start the day.

As always, thank you to our amazing community of students, families, staff, and neighbors for your continued support, and we wish all LT families an outstanding Spring Break spent with family and loved ones.
