Hello Optimist Club Presidents,
Thus far, I have had an incredible year serving as your Optimist International President. Through my travels, zooms and gatherings I have met so many wonderful Optimists and strong leaders. I have witnessed the incredible hope and positivity that Optimists bring to their communities. I’ve seen first-hand the joy that they bring to the faces of the youth! All these things have touched my heart and remind me of why I care so deeply about our wonderful organization. Club Presidents, please give your members the following message from me, “Thank you for all that you do! Keep bringing out the best in everything you do!”
However, this year is not finished. We still have over a month left to give it our all to achieve our goals. As we sit on the cusp between this optimist year and the next, I urge you to give it your all for a strong finish. Newton’s Law explains it to us very clearly. He explains that a body at rest will need great force applied to it to get moving. Conversely, the body in motion will continue their movement forward without much effort. Optimists, together get the momentum going, going upward and continue to use that momentum to move upward right into October and beyond.
Our mission statement is the foundation for everything we do. “By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in youth our communities and ourselves.” Optimists tend to be giving people. Always willing to help others and provide for their communities. Remember to take time to bring out the best in yourself as well. When we give ourselves time to grow, learn and love, we become better Optimists, friends and citizens.
