CORPORATE WORK STUDY!!!
Supervisor Appreciation Breakfast!
| | |
On March 19, Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School welcomed our corporate partners and supervisors for our annual Corporate Work Study Supervisor Appreciation Breakfast, it was a joyful and energizing morning filled with gratitude, connection, and shared purpose.
Members of our Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors were in attendance, and President Sister Maryalyce Gilfeather, SNDdeN, Ph.D. warmly welcomed guests as we gathered in appreciation of the partnerships that make our Corporate Work Study Program possible.
The event was hosted by Vice President of CWSP, Dean Graziano, J.D., who led the morning with enthusiasm and gratitude.
We were honored to begin in prayer with Emilka Vazquez ’26 and to hear from our students, including Wesley Difo ’26 and Abril Sanchez ’26, who introduced their supervisors, Peter Scapicchio of Axcelis Technologies and Jessica McClellan of LCW CPA. Their remarks, along with shared testimonials, spoke to the meaningful relationships, mentorship, and growth that define the CWSP experience.
To our corporate sponsors and supervisors—thank you. Your commitment to mentoring our students and providing real-world opportunities continues to shape their futures in powerful ways.
We are deeply grateful for your partnership!

Junior Retreat:
The Class of 2027 takes time time reflect.
| | |
Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School juniors recently participated in the Route 495: Where Am I Going? retreat, held at Merrimack College. The day offered students a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and consider this important stage of their lives.
Led by Campus Minister Jill Joyce, the retreat guided students through moments of personal reflection and shared experiences, encouraging them to think deeply about the influences shaping who they are and the direction they hope to take moving forward.
Through thoughtful activities and conversations, students explored questions of purpose, identity, and future aspirations. The retreat created space for honest dialogue, deeper self-awareness, and a renewed sense of focus as they continue their journey at NDCR and beyond.
Also in attendance were Dean of Students Bailey Magazzu, along with faculty members Angelo Villadolid, John Versteeg, and Kyle Peterson, whose presence and support helped foster a welcoming and reflective environment for all students.
Experiences like the Junior Retreat reflect NDCR’s commitment to forming not only strong students, but thoughtful, purpose-driven young adults prepared for the road ahead.

Hallmarks Retreat at the
Notre Dame Spirituality Center
Supporting the Faith Formation of
Our Faculty and Staff
At Notre Dame Cristo Rey, faith formation is a shared journey for both students and the adults who guide them. Earlier this month, members of our faculty participated in the Hallmarks Retreat at the Notre Dame Spirituality Center in Ipswich, joining educators and campus ministers from across the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur network.
Grounded in the Seven Hallmarks of a Notre Dame de Namur Learning Community, the retreat offered a meaningful opportunity for adult faith formation—a time for reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth. Participants engaged in thoughtful conversation, listened to the powerful stories of the Sisters and their missionary work, and spent time in prayer and quiet reflection on the beautiful grounds.
We are especially grateful to Elizabeth Rossano, Theology Teacher, who has co-facilitated the Hallmarks Retreat for the past five years, as well as Dr. Gian Grant, Science Teacher, and Beth Young, Theology Teacher, for their commitment to deepening their faith and living out our mission each day.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT:
Full Circle: From CWSP Student to Employee to Supervisor!
| | |
Nalani Casiano ’17 is building a meaningful and successful career—one she credits to the foundation she gained through Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School’s Corporate Work Study Program.
After graduating from NDCR, Nalani attended the College of the Holy Cross, majoring in sociology with a concentration in Latin America, Latinx, and Caribbean studies, while also earning a Business Fundamentals certificate.
During her time at NDCR, she was placed at Raytheon through the Corporate Work Study Program—an experience that would ultimately shape her career path.
She continued working with her placement throughout college and, upon graduating, joined the company’s Contracts Leadership Development Program.
“I love what I do, the people I work with, and the mission of the company,” Nalani shared.
She credits NDCR with opening doors she never expected.
“Without NDCR’s CWSP, I would have never even thought of this career path,” she said. “It’s been incredibly fulfilling.”
Her time at NDCR also prepared her for the demands of college and professional life.“Balancing classes, work, and activities taught me discipline and organization—skills I still rely on today,” she shared.
Her journey came full circle when Nalani served as a supervisor to NDCR students, mentoring and guiding them through the same kind of professional experiences that once shaped her own path. “It’s one of my proudest experiences to be able to support students the way others supported me,” she said. Her advice to current students is simple: use your network, step outside your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
