La Valle Coastal Club August Weekday Event

On Monday, August 10th we held our monthly weekday event at the beautiful and recently renovated La Valle Coastal Club. We had 28 of us who came out and enjoyed a warm breezy golf day near the coast in Del Mar. Many stayed for the 19th Hole at the El Pueblo Mexican Restaurant on the back patio to enjoy some good food and drink, and to congratulate the winners!

The game of the day was "Sweet 16" in which your best 16 holes counted for your total score (net). We had two game flights and one Closet to the Pin (CTTP) hole for each flight.

The 1st Place player in each flight received a $20 Golf Mart Gift Card and the 2nd Place player received a $10 Golf Mart Gift Card. The CTTP winners each received a $10 Golf Mart Gift Card.

Colina Park September Weekday Event

Our Wednesday September 16th Colina Park Weekday event was a big hit for those attending. It was the first time our LPGA San Diego Amateurs played this course. We played a 9am shotgun and everyone walked this short Par-3 18-Hole course.

Established in 1954 and renovated in 2003, Colina Park Golf Course features well maintained greens and a lot of elevation change. The layout offers a fun and challenging experience for golfers of all skill levels. Since 1994, Colina Park has been the proud home of Pro Kids, First Tee - San Diego, a nonprofit dedicated to helping underserved youth through golf. 100% of revenue supports this mission focusing on character development and life skills. Playing here supports a great cause!

This was a "Give and Play" Event - $5 of the registration fee was donated to Pro Kids, First Tee - San Diego and our players had the option to donate more. We ended up with a total donation of $285. Thanks to all for your generosity!

Our games for the day were:

• CTTPs: four Closest to the Pin competitions
• Chip-ins: all players contributed $2 to the Chip-in pot

And the winners are....!

Closest to the Pin - Adrienne Acre, Karen Bridges, Marisa Farpon, and Denise Nelesen. Each winner received a $10 Golf Mart gift card.

Chip-ins - The $22 pot was split between: Marisa Farpon ($8), Marie Horn ($7), and Cathy Wright ($7).

Oh, and by the way, Adrienne Acre got a Hole-in-One on Hole #13!!! She will get an award through the LPGS Amateurs Hole-in-One Club program.
