PAQUETTE, CANTER GRAB CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD
AFTER SATURDAY RACING
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech put a bow on 2 more title battles during a full evening of competition on Saturday September 21st. The Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars started their final night’s journey with heat races. Former champ Herbie Conrad and past season rewards king Henry McDougalle Jr won those tests. Steve Butterfield led from green in the feature. Point leader Nate Canter worked to clash for first, but contact ended his event. He did however clinch his second championship. Conrad would then power to his second straight victory over Dale Harper, Dallas Green, Joe Gonder Jr, snd Richard Byrd.

The INEX Legends presented by Last Chance Wrecker and A&M Customs point finale launched with preliminaries taken by Kyle Emberton, Tony Paquette, and Mark Downey. The 25-lap main was a mix of tight competition and use of the complimentary towing assistance. Alan Edsall marched from his 18th starting spot to claim the victory besting John Conner Jr, Tim Logue, Paquette, and Levei Hargraves. Teenager Tony Paquette took home the championship adding it to his two previous Junior Faskart season crowns.

The Circle City Pyrotechnics Junior Faskarts returned to action for the penultimate point event of 2019. The 26-driver entrants initially saw heat contests captured by Nathan Brown, Daqua Johnson, and Jayden Durham. The first feature had Durham survive several challenges to claim his maiden victory of the year over Cameron Frentress, Dylan Ridener, Lynden Rogers, and Brendon Brown. The second main had a dramatic ending as longtime leader Dale Armour had his car go up in smoke with one turn to go. Johnny Bishop thundered through for victory over John Hargraves Jr, Noah Perkinson, Mikey White III, and Hannah Poynter.

The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had an emotional victory lane. June-July series champ Ricky Johnson took home the feature win and dedicated the success to his grandmother who recently passed away. Jess Holliday finished second over Brandon Harding, Nigel Peters, and Tylar Brown. Heat race winners were Brown, Joseph Stidham, Harding, and Jay Murtlow. The Brown’s Oil Service Late Models had a 75-lap World Figure tire event. John Conner Jr hoisted the checkered flag in this one besting Quentin White, Austin Tunny, Casey White, and Ben Tunny.
