Dear Friends of the Arts,

As we close out another year, I am filled with gratitude and pride as I reflect on all we’ve accomplished together in 2024. The arts are the heartbeat of our community, and this year that heartbeat pulsed stronger than ever.

From inspiring exhibitions and performances to dynamic programs that connected artists with audiences across Placer County, the impact of our collective creativity has been truly remarkable.

Thanks to your unwavering support, we have nurtured local talent, championed arts education, and brought the transformative power of the arts to countless lives. The arts have also made our community stronger. Our non-profit arts and culture organizations had a profound $26.1 million economic impact in Placer County (in 2022).

Barbara Burge, Managing Director, the ACPC Staff, volunteers and contractors are to be commended for all of their hard work and efforts for a successful year!

As we look to 2025, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a thriving arts ecosystem. We aim to deepen our impact, advocate for creative opportunities, and ensure that art continues to inspire, connect, and uplift every corner of Placer County.

None of this would be possible without you—our incredible supporters, artists, and partners. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. Together, we are shaping a brighter, more vibrant future.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a New Year filled with creativity, connection, and inspiration.

With gratitude,

Twiana Armstrong

Best Story of 2024

As we began the Cultural Mapping Study in 2021, we discovered that the small rural community of Sheridan had a 22% poverty rate, the highest poverty rate in Placer County. We knew at that moment we would work to connect, make an impact, and share the benefits of the arts.

Now in 2024, thanks to many partners, artists, and volunteers, Sheridan elementary school has a beautiful new mural created by the community, made possible with funding secured by the Arts Council of Placer County from California Arts Council, in partnership with Blue Line Arts.

Students at Sheridan Elementary school also now have the weekly "Create Club." Students engage in different visual arts projects, focusing on a different artist every week. Photos shown here were focused on Pablo Picasso. Students created Sun collages out of construction paper, card-stock, pipe cleaner and glue. The next week was painting!

We invite you to support programs like the Create Club and more by making a contribution to the Arts Council of Placer County.
