9/16/20
Omaha Public Schools Community,

Throughout the past week we have outlined our plan for a phased approach to return to in-person learning with our Family 3/2 Instructional Model. Earlier this afternoon, we shared the timeline for that phased return by email. Details are also posted to our website, ops.org. Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Logan shared a video message with our community which you can view here.

The phased approach began today, with students at JP Lord School returning in person. It continues through Oct. 19, when students enrolled in high school and many of our programs return in the Family 3/2 Instructional Model. For families who feel remote learning is the best option, the Remote Learning Program will remain available. It is important to note that there will be some differences in the program that families should carefully consider. Families will have until Sunday, Sept. 20 to make a determination on in-person or fully-remote learning for the remainder of this semester.

We also have a Frequently Asked Questions webpage that walks through details of the plan.

Health and safety is our priority. Returning in the Family 3/2 Instructional Model allows for social distancing in addition to our layers of precautions for the protection of students, staff and families.
