Book Recommendations I read 50+ non-fiction books a year -- it's where I find ideas to help my clients grow their business. I get them (free!) out of my local library. Below are the ones I read this past month. (Note: As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.)
The Rebellious CEO: 12 Leaders Who Did It Right Long-time activist Ralph Nader profiles of 12 entrepreneurs who were able to treat their employees well, take care of their customers, be socially progressive AND make a profit. We need more like them.
Same as Ever: A Guide to What Never Changes Morgan Housel, author of The Psychology of Money, will challenge your assumptions about the way things are and suggests the best way to predict the future is often by looking backwards.
Master of Change: How to Excel When Everything Is Changing – Including You If you're going through a difficult transition this one may help you grease the wheels.
Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin): A Memoir Sly Stone reflects on the good times, bad times and high times while redefining funk, soul, blues and rock. Here's his show-stopping I Wanna Take You Higher at Woodstock -- "Boom Laka-Laka-Laka!"
Think and Grow Rich I skim through this personal achievement classic every December before I set my goals for the coming year. It reminds me about fundamental principles for success even if one needs to take the words from author Napoleon Hill (who had many professional and personal failings) with a grain of salt.
