Before Healing Haiti had buildings, programs, or even a name, it had a moment.

In 2006, Jeff and Alyn Gacek stepped into Haiti for the first time. After years of supporting ministry from afar, they finally stood on Haitian soil. The heat was intense. The streets were busy and uneven. Children ran past—laughing, resilient, alive. There was beauty, and there was deep need. And in that place, God broke their hearts and planted something that would not let go.

What began that day was not a plan—it was a calling.

Called to stay. Committed to serve.

Where God placed us, we remain.

In the years that followed, that calling began to take shape. In 2007, land was cleared in Titanyen for what would one day become Grace Village. Water trucks delivered three million gallons of clean water into Cité Soleil. Reiser Heights school was completed. Small teams traveled to Haiti, serving faithfully and returning home changed.

By 2008 and 2009, the work continued to grow. Elder care was established. Construction began on Grace Village with a vision to provide Christ-centered care for Haiti’s most vulnerable children. What was once a calling was becoming a ministry rooted in devotion and faith.

Then in 2010, everything changed.

A devastating earthquake shook Haiti to its core, claiming countless lives and leaving families torn apart. Healing Haiti responded, traveling alongside others to help relieve suffering. And when the immediate crisis passed, the call remained.

In 2011, Grace Village opened—a City on a Hill—becoming home to children and a place where the light of Jesus could shine throughout the surrounding areas.

Education followed. In 2012, Grace Academy opened its doors, welcoming hundreds of students in Titanyen. Ministry expanded further in the years that followed: Grace Clinic and Grace Church were established, and Grace Village transitioned to family homes so children could truly experience what it means to belong.

Hope continued to reach farther. In 2015 and 2016, Hope Church and Hope School opened their doors in Cité Soleil. Fleri Bakery began creating jobs, providing both food and dignity. Clinics opened where medical care had been scarce. Feeding centers served students, elders, and vulnerable families.

As the years passed, the work grew deeper roots and impact.

Fleri Farms expanded job creation and food sustainability. Clinics treated thousands of patients. Schools educated the next generation. Churches gathered week after week—preaching the Gospel, discipling believers, and strengthening families.

Then came seasons no one anticipated.

Global pandemic. Government collapse. Escalating violence. Instability that caused many organizations to leave Haiti altogether.

And yet—Healing Haiti stayed.

Haitian pastors continued leading their churches.

Haitian teachers continued educating students.

Haitian medical staff continued caring for the sick.

Haitian employees—hundreds strong—continued showing up for their own people.

Schools stayed open. Water continued to flow. Jobs were preserved. Medical care stayed accessible. The Gospel was still proclaimed.

Because this work has never been about convenience. It has always been about commitment.

Where God placed us, we remain.

As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on this truth: Healing Haiti exists because God called us here—and because people like you chose to stay with us.

Your faithfulness has sustained churches, schools, clinics, and jobs. It has strengthened families and allowed hope to endure in difficult seasons. You are part of a story God has been writing for two decades—one marked by perseverance, faith, and devotion.

As we look ahead, we do so anchored in God’s faithfulness and confident in His continued provision. If you feel led to give before the year ends, your generosity will directly support the work happening right now—work rooted in the Gospel, led by Haitians, and committed for the long haul.

Thank you for walking these roads with us.

Thank you for staying.

Your gift today will impact lives in the year ahead. Wishing you a blessed and joyful New Year, and thank you for making a difference.
