Buyer Beware: ChatGPT Releases Atlas Browser

AI is still quite the buzzword and that has helped many AI companies expand quickly and reach a ton of exposure. One of the biggest benefactors of this has been ChatGPT, which for many has become synonymous with AI even though it is just one company/product in a field that is newer and ever-expanding.

For ChatGPT, however, that has given them quite the platform. As any business, they are looking to use that to expand and in that line have released a web browser. Their name familiarity will give them trust of many consumers who will download the browser. But much like using AI itself, users should beware of the concerns of using a browser like that.

As with any browser, the benefit to the company is that they gain data on users. While this allows for targeted advertising and the like for other browsers, ChatGPT can put this data into their models to advance it along. The browsing tendencies and links used can help to build ChatGPT's data for responses. Much like using the models themselves, a major concern that users need to be aware of is that this could potentially lead to unwanted personal or organizational data entering the sphere of the models as it takes your input and what it learns from you and pushes that back into the large language model that anyone else using can begin to ask questions about.

The product is still new and there isn't too much information on it, but with the resources the owning companies have, it can be expected that many people will hear about it. We just want to make sure that people are considering the risks of beginning to use such a product,
