Medicare Advantage, MAP and IB Duals 2027 and 2028 Application Due Dates
The Bureau of Managed Long Term Care of the Department of Health has advised MCOs and MLTC Plans of important due dates for applications that must be submitted to the Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight related to Medicare Advantage as a requirement for participation. This includes all Medicare Advantage types, including Medicaid Advantage Plus (MAP) and Integrated Benefit for Dually Eligible Enrollees (IB-Dual) as further described in the menu option, Information for Health Plans.
The updated due dates include changes regarding CMS enrollment sanction authority that will cease beginning with calendar year 2026 for MAP and Integrated Benefit for Dually Eligible Enrollees (IB-Dual). A health plan completing the 2026 State Medicaid Agency Contract (SMAC) with a pending MAP, IB-Dual, or service area expansion application must be approved by the State and ready to begin enrollment on January 1, 2026. Plans without an executed Medicaid managed care contract for 2026, will be unable to enroll any new individuals in those pending applications until certain conditions outlined in the SMAC are met.
DOH will review the revised timelines and due dates for CMS coverage year 2027 at the next monthly plan meeting scheduled for June 12, 2025.
